About the Event
Think global, talk local...
Rooted in Bristol is a documentary celebrating the contribution that people of African heritage have made in creating and sustaining kitchen gardens over many decades, on allotments across Bristol. Exploring personal histories and experiences, it raises the question of access to green spaces and what are the barriers that exist to accessing land for growing.
Join us for an informal evening in the warm and welcoming surroundings of the Coexist Kitchen. Digging up some of the best produce from local allotments, we’ll be cooking up a tasty menu to accompany a screening of Afrika Eye’s self-produced lockdown film.
For those who have harvested their allotment produce, we invite you to donate your vegetable produce to be incorporated into our menu.
