About the Event
‘Mami Wata’ – a supernatural tale seeped in the folklore of Nigeria. It tells the story of three women whose lives have been shaped by their people’s devotion to the water deity Mami Wata – traditional beliefs meet present day technologies. The past inhabits the present and we are drawn into the dilemmas the women face. A rare and extraordinary film directed by C.J. Fiery Obasi.
Post screening discussion led by Samantha Iwowo (Senior Lecturer in Drama,Film& TV at Bournemouth University)
