Afrika Eye welcomes young curator Asmaa Jama to present a midday medley of film, poetry and discussion.
With a screening of short film Nuraiyah made by Bristol based film maker Kehvyn Ishmail, plus poetry by Muneera Pilgrim – Muneera is a Bristol-born international Poet, Writer, Cultural Producer & co-founder of the Muslim female spoken-word/ hip-hop duo Poetic Pilgrimage. She’s featured on BBC Radio 2, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Independent and many more!
About the feature ‘Girlhood’:
Marieme joins an all-girl gang in the projects of Paris and is slowly brought out of her shell by her three sassy neighbours. As she falls further under their bravado and volatile energy, she begins making brave and foolish choices.
