Pop Up Teepee Screening and Storytelling
Kirikou and the Sorceress will be screened in a teepee at Felix Road Adventure Playground followed by a children’s storytelling session with Kabbo Hue Ferdinand, an Indigenous Afrikan Storyteller, exploring the unique synergy between storytelling and film and the way in which film is a storyteller.
Kirikou and the Sorceress – “This fairy tale, based on a West African legend, sends its indomitable little-boy hero on his way to outwit the evil sorceress Karaba and her minions.” The New York Times (2000).
Inspired by the folk stories from Senegal, this enchanting adventure shows how tiny but brave Kirikou outwits a powerful sorceress.
With a soundtrack by Youssou N’Dour, Kirikou brings a fresh and authentic vision of Africa.
